Why Can’t People Just Answer Simple Questions?

Posted in blogosphere, politics with tags , , , , , , on November 24, 2012 by Qritiq

Question #12 – posed in May:

Who told Andrew Breitbart that Pat Frey had been SWAT-ed?

I will now answer a simple question to demonstrate to people that it is indeed achievable. Go ahead – ask me: ‘Where can I find more Liberal Grouch content?’

Hmm? Did you ask me something? Oh, rightchere: http://www.breitbartunmasked.com/

Questions For Lisa

Posted in politics with tags , , , , , , , , on October 13, 2011 by Qritiq

In your last tweet to @RepWeiner, you said that he should get in touch with you – that someone had contacted you. Meagan Broussard had said much the same thing. Who was that someone and was it the same someone who had contacted Meagan?

You had said that you hadn’t meant to release the entire facebook transcript. Who was it that you gave access to, who then released the whole chat against your wishes? Was it a radaronline reporter, a friend, or an intermediary?

What democratic campaigns had you done volunteer work for in the past?

What was the original purpose of the starchild111 twitter account? Some of your older tweets indicate your interest in social media marketing. (Just out of curiosity – did you study Marketing or Communications in college?)

Did you have any contact with Meagan (say on facebook for example) before @RepWeiner sent the infamous underwear tweet?

You said you came forward because you felt sad for all the negative attention another Weiner woman was getting, so you wanted to help her. Who was that woman and did you have contact with her before you came forward.

You’ve said that you have not benefited monetarily from Weinergate; is that still the case? Meagan collected $15,000 from ABC – do you find that aggravating?

Did anyone help you in contacting the press, or in helping you think about what to say to the press? Who? Did this person help any other Weiner women as well?

While you’ve criticized some of Anthony Weiner’s personal foibles, you’ve remained a staunch supporter of his politics. I found your statements to be similar to the sockpuppets Nikki Reid, John Reid, et al., in that you say you support RepWeiner, but, as you know, the things you’ve said to the press have actually hurt him. Is there any connection at all between you and the “Reids”? Do you think that someone who may have been advising you was also involved in scripting the Reid twitter accounts?

Did you ever give access to any twitter account that you held the password to, to someone else?

Do you feel that anyone has manipulated you, lied to you, or taken advantage of your trust, regarding Weinergate?

Who are the friends that you’ve said you had told about your online friendship with RepWeiner? Were they facebook friends, irl friends? Were any of them opposed to progressive politics?

Radaronline quoted you as saying that RepWeiner is “a bad man”. Do you still think that? How did the radaronline reporter communicate with you – by chat/messaging? Did you speak with them directly or through an intermediary? Did someone help you with your statements to radaronline?

And just a personal question – would you vote for Anthony Weiner if he ran for president someday? Or do you feel that he is too reckless, or doesn’t have good enough judgment for the job?

.

The Wendy Whiner Of Weinergate

From the 6/18/11 Lee Stranahan Blog Talk Radio Show (coincidentally ONE DAY after the Jennifer Preston NYT piece re fake Weinergate twitter teens)  – Caller @AG_Conservative aka Allen Ginzburg, known to be from the greater Detroit area, sounding somewhat hysterical:

From the 6/22/11  Lee Stranahan Blog Talk Radio Show [clip is edited] – Caller @razor419, known to be from the greater Detroit area, sounding somewhat hysterical:

[Update: Note – @Liberty_Chick sez these callers pronounce their vowels differently, and I would say that razor does sound older and more self-assured. Both callers oddly and breathlessly spout disinformation in a high-strung sing-song-y cadence. (Though it’s possible AG is walking a dog.) And both calls make me laugh about the same amount.]

(As Lee has pointed out to us, it is a simple matter to make your voice sound higher or deeper on the phone.)

Of course a lot of people around Weinergate like to use more than one handle, as we see here: http://wireupdate.com/joereport/news/my-own-email-interactions-with-patriotusa76-aka-dan-wolfe/#comment-217184911

[Update: the above link appears to have been scrubbed.  Below is a cap of the commenter using two id’s on the same post; what I was referring to above. Wonder why it got scrubbed – seems to be a pattern. (Click on the image to see it more clearly.)]

Ken is Koam

And here’s a REALLY funny coincidence –

On Lee’s 6/22/11 show, our friend Ken Danieli called in as “@wittier” from his 914 area code, immediately after @razor419.

Hmm. 914? 419?

When we scroll down a bit on this link , we see that Ken had a RAZR phone and we know his area code is 914.

RAZR914? razor419? Isn’t that FUNNY?!

When I pointed this out to @razor419, he stopped talking to me, even though he seemed to have PLENTY to say to me before. As a matter of fact, he stopped tweeting all-together. Gee, I wonder why?????

Golly, just one of the many mysteries of the post-Weinergate era I guess.

Dan Wolfe: Historian

.

From the FilmLadd – Dan Wolfe interview

I found this exchange interesting:

Filmladd (4:45:20 PM): Define collectivism.

danwolfe7676 (4:45:35 PM): I dont understand?

Filmladd (4:45:53 PM): What does collectivism mean to you?

Filmladd (4:46:01 PM): As a political philosophy.

danwolfe7676 (4:46:25 PM): Are you serious? did I say I was a political science major?

danwolfe7676 (4:46:28 PM): Wow deep end .

Filmladd (4:46:34 PM): Okay, moving on.

danwolfe7676 (4:46:44 PM): This is what I mean

danwolfe7676 (4:46:48 PM): That question was nuts.

.

hmm. So a presumed tea-partier doesn’t understand the concept of collectivism? Kinda hard to swallow.

and there was this:

danwolfe7676 (4:58:52 PM): You are throwing these at me too fast

danwolfe7676 (4:58:56 PM): I need time to answer

Filmladd (4:58:59 PM): Sorry.

danwolfe7676 (4:59:02 PM): Slow typer

danwolfe7676 (4:59:16 PM): I didn’t grow up with computers ike you guys

.

Poor Dan. Just a simple regular guy from humble beginnings who can barely type. He can’t even spell very well:

danwolfe7676 (7:23:49 PM): Tryign to help against my better judgement

.

But wait! What’s this? Dan redeems himself with his historical knowledge:

Filmladd (7:17:26 PM): Who’s your favorite founding father? It sounds like a softball, but I don’t think it is.

danwolfe7676 (7:18:22 PM): Franklin.

Filmladd (7:19:06 PM): You do know that Franklin and his son were on opposite sides of the Revolutionary war?

danwolfe7676 (7:19:39 PM): Yes William ,right?

Filmladd (7:19:41 PM): Let me ask you: do you think Franklin chose to be on the opposite side?

danwolfe7676 (7:19:47 PM): his son William

Filmladd (7:20:08 PM): Or do you think he decided to shrug, demand his privacy, and go back to printing Little Richard’s Almanacs?

danwolfe7676 (7:20:28 PM): Yeah thanks for the compliment but I don’t think this is anywhere near that

danwolfe7676 (7:20:43 PM): And he didn’t have a group of vultures waiting to pick at his body

danwolfe7676 (7:20:47 PM): like you are all with me

Filmladd (7:21:01 PM): No, he just had an entire British army wanting to hang him.

danwolfe7676 (7:21:37 PM): Well, I’m obiously not his character otherwise I would have founded a country by now

danwolfe7676 (7:21:46 PM): I’m not worthy I mean

.

Now I was REALLY impressed with this because I happen to have a major in history (US concentration); I took a ton of history classes at one of the finest schools in the nation (and did pretty well in them), and I had NO IDEA who Ben Franklin’s son was or his significance in American history, and I would have been unable to banter with Ladd on this topic.

Well, I figured if this simple, formerly under-privileged, regular guy Dan Wolfe who can’t even spell, knows about this piece of history, I had better catch up but quick (I mean, I even grew up with computers). But how?

Fortunately, our friend Ken Danieli comes to the rescue with his recommendation and review of

The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin:

http://www.shelfari.com/kend/shelf#firstBook=0&list=0&sort=opinions

.

Ken declares Franklin “an amazing character” and gives the bio 4 stars.
.

.

Sounds like it is well worth a look.

Events Leading Up To Disaster

Posted in Doh! with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 13, 2011 by Qritiq

It has been my observation that almost always, in terrible disasters, it is not just one thing that has gone wrong, but at least two, and often more.

When you take a picture and tweet it, Blackberry can automatically send it via a yfrog link. So, you don’t really have to deal with yfrog, it works automatically.  AW may not have been aware that DM’ing a picture privately, would leave that picture publicly viewable in yfrog (1st mistake).

If AW put a caption on the picture (and if it was “part of a joke”, then he probably did), then the text plus the link could exceed 140 characters. In that case, his carrier could break up the message into 2 pieces: the caption sent via DM and the yfrog link to the picture sent as an @reply. The yfrog link to the picture would then appear on his public twitter feed (2nd mistake).

AW had been watchin’ the hockey game, maybe havin’ a couple beers (who watches a hockey game without beer? And who watches a hockey game and has only one beer?) Hits “G”, the app autofills using alphabetical order, with a name that looks right. AW recognizes the autofilled name as that of a pretty girl’s, so beer-addled brain tells him it’s a match and he hits send (3rd mistake).

annddd… GAME OVER.

Please answer these questions to the best of your ability, 5 points each:

.

Who voiced Patricia Reid?

Did Dan Wolfe get paid? By who?

Is there anything concrete that ties NR to the AW takedown?

What was the motive? (please be specific)

Is there really a JG? Has anyone seen the police report?

Any more questions?

.

Please stay mostly on topic. Idiotic, illogical, dopey, untrue, misleading, and annoying comments will be promptly deleted and the commenter will be banned.

Anonymous replies welcome.

Patterico issued this important warning to me today on twitter:

“I have taken a screenshot”.

Meaning that he took a screencap of one of my tweets that he found to be scary and THREATENING, and that he might potentially use this screencap to IMPLICATE me in a possible INVESTIGATION.

Actually, I don’t think just one screencap is sufficient. I believe Patterico should screencap this entire blog. Within he will find that I discuss Great DANES and TIBETAN Mastiffs more than AMERICAN dogs. Obviously SEDITIOUS!!!

And with the thorough investigations of my writings that he should certainly attend to, he may also discover indications that I believe our president has done less than his best when it comes to math education. These criticisms of the president himself, should be taken directly to the SECRET SERVICE.

Clearly, as RonBryn and Patterico have discovered, I am EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and ARMED with a laptop, and I’m sure the FBI would be VERY INTERESTED in my tweets.

Thank God for this man’s vigilance in protecting the public from scary little blondes.

Why Weinergate Is Still Important

Posted in bitching with tags , , , , , , , on July 22, 2011 by Qritiq
P1210709

Nothing’s as old as old news.

So why am I still fixated on Weinergate? I’ll tell you why (anyone feel a rant coming on?)

First, I understand that some people are concerned with the threatening messages that some bloggers have received. Look, I think it’s terrible when any writer or journalist is threatened; when underhanded folks try to shut them up. And of course, I hope the person(s) to blame is caught. But I think there is a more paramount concern here.

Secondly, I know some people (many of them liberals, actually) are completely disgusted with RAW’s behavior, and simply no longer want him to represent them in any way. This is really not my issue. While what RAW did was certainly dopey and reckless, his behavior is less worse than smoking at a cocktail party or visiting a strip club. In other words, while I’d be somewhat concerned about his lack of judgment, I really couldn’t care less if he wants to sext forever and a day with consenting adults.

And by the way, I likely disagree with about 70% of RAW’s policies, so why is it I’m concerned about this?

In this country, we are supposed to have a balance of power. That means the executive branch should not be able to decide who may or may not be on your local ballot, even when that candidate goes on Fox News every chance he gets to call out the President for being weak.  As for the top of the legislative branch, when Nancy Pelosi from San Francisco came out and said that people in Queens shouldn’t be permitted to have the candidate of their choice even appear on their ballot (because she couldn’t get her work done), I about lost my ish. (Interesting tidbit: The Deputy Mayor of New York City is married to Nancy Pelosi’s Chief of Staff. Isn’t that interesting?) (Another possibly interesting tidbit: Bloomberg has registered a new campaign with the state.)

And furthermore, if my campaign contributions are going toward blackmailing, lying, honeypots, disinformation, or anything like that AT ALL, even if it’s just at the mayoral level, well I sure would like to know about it. I suspect a lot of people would.

If we don’t get some hard facts about where the funding came from for the months-long social media disinformation campaign against Rep. Anthony Weiner, I may feel obligated to write about it in the days to come.

And I got A LOT to say.

postscript: since there has been so much disinformation and purposeful distraction on this topic, I may be deleting or editing comments that I find to be less than 100% sensible. Kinda sad, because I’ve never had to do that before.
