I want to tell you a story. You take your 8-year-old to Sbarro’s for pizza. Terrorists blow the place up and your child dies. For years, the terrorists continue to bomb your city and your people. Most of the people in the world believe that you and your country should not defend yourselves. Instead, they tell you to give much of your land, homes and businesses to the terrorists. Some leaders make veiled threats warning your country that it should not defend itself (or you!) People who claim to be sympathetic, mount campaigns against your attempts at defending yourself and your family. They say their campaigns are in the name of peace. Meanwhile, these people (who say they are your friends) sit in their houses in the U.S. and Europe, under no threat at all. They are free to take their kids out for pizza at any time without the expectation that they might be killed.
The only problem with this story is that it’s true.
